Fri-Endship

Friendship is the only relationship apart from a spouse which we get to choose and not by someone else(again, spouse in many cases, still selected by parents).School & College are the most critical phases of life where friendship is groomed and may get promoted to life-partner or life-long friendship. What I would like to discuss is the phase of friendship after school, college life as well as after marriage of one of the friend.May be one of the friend goes for further studies or joins the company out of country and gets busy with his/her life.

When two friends depart in distance,it is quite natural that the communication between them keeps on reducing. What used to be a daily call reduces to weekly calls and then to chatting online once in a month. The same applies to the friend who gets married. This weakens the closeness between them and may result in breaking of friendship. What one has to understand is that as life moves on, everyone's priority changes and you can't expect the person to be the same one as he/she used to be during college time.

Here, I would like to cite the changes before and after college life, sarcastically made by one of my very good friend and slightly modified by me:

What used to be 'Friends Forever' turns out to be 'Friends whatever'....

At this time, friends need to understand the priorities of each other and should not hold grudges against each other or should not let it affect the friendship which they have savored for years.Give each other space. In this busy world, everyone gets bogged down in their life that they can't give quality time to their friends what they used to give during college or before the marriage. If your friend is avoiding you or not able to meet you, what you should do ? whether to understand your friend's condition or think of doing the same thing (taking soft revenge) when your friend tries to contact you to show that 'you also can get busy'...Apne Mann ki suno...

Trailer (pun intended)

Today, I will be joining the leagues of Mr.Amitabh Bachchan, Mr.Amir Khan, Mr.Lalkrishna Advani, Mr.Sachin Tendulkar n the likes.No..No..I am not becoming a next celebrity, but I am gonna start blogging i.e.blasting my anger, showing my pain, sympathising with people, taking potshots at others and all sort of things which I can not do in public.Well, that is not , atleast, my intention of writing a blog.Better I leave that for so called celebrities.

Then 'Why are you blogging?' sounds like a cliche question asked by the recruiters 'Why are you doing MBA?' which irritates everyone sitting for an interview.Because, 50% of the people can't say the truth and rest 50% themselves don't know why are they doing the said course. To cut things short, my Mann told me to do so I obeyed by listening to my heart(Mann ki Suno). So to all wannabe interviewee's, don't give this answer but actually apne Mann ki Suno, you will get an answer.

Ok...After deciding to write a blog, next question what should I write on...Again,what my Mann will say ;-)

Bollywood is one of my favourite topic of discussion.I still wonder, everyyear when only 8-10 films out of 300 odd films claimed to be Hits i.e 3% success rate, why the hell producers and financers would be putting lots of money on the 'proved' untalented stars.May be for the same reason 2.75 lakhs candidates try their luck every year for 2000 odd seats at much coveted IIM's.

One thing I have noticed regarding the movies is that different people have different tastes, so even though critics slam it, it turns out to be a box-office grosser. But what intrigues me more is that how people change their opinion so often when discussing with different sets of people.Have you ever liked the movie so much but its not liked by most in the group, so while discussing with friends, you tend to say 'ya, it was ok, not so great'.Why do people do this ? May be they are not confident about themselves or they don't want to get considered 'out of the group' thinker. Most of us are trained to follow the herd, going to school, then college, then Engineering, then MBA, get a job, get married, have children ...thats why most of us fumble when a question pops up 'why are you doing what you are doing?'.Societal pressure, family pressure, peer competition pressure presses out the 'Individuality' from us.While doing anything, we check what others are doing and then take the decision based on it.

So, as I said ,my purpose of writing a blog is not because others are writing but I want to write. My blog passes a sole message 'Apne Mann ki Suno' although I am not here to give messages or advices but to present some of the things which we know in our subconscious mind.
The debut blog does not bring much of the content since its just a prelude of the things to come in future. The title of the blog suggests the same...Its a 'Trailer', picture abhi baaki hai...Btw, trailer also because I am little late to start blogging.I am neither a great writer nor the best analyzer, but will try to help myself towards reaching to that level.

Before concluding, I want to top-pick 5 Hindi films of year 2008 which I liked:
1. A Wednesday - Superb screenplay with all twists n turns
2. Aamir - Debutant Rajiv Khandewal's emotional trauma glues you to your seat
3. Janne Tu ya Jaane naa - A romantic lovestory with all fun n frolic
4. Fashion - Madhur Bhandarkar brings out the best from Priyanka Chopra
5. Dostana - Trio rocks.

Meanwhile, keep reading my other two blogs - 'Mann-o-sphere' ( A collection of poems) & 'HS anuMANN'(A collection of predictions)...Adios!!!
